There ain't nothing you can do about it.
Thanks to the Rarh, for those words of wisdom (that would be R. Kelly). Although when he wrote it, it was "when a woman's fed up, there ain't nothing you can do about it," which are some of the truest words ever uttered by a male R&B singer.
Still, had he sung about writer burn out, it would have been equally as true.
I haven't blogged at Myspace in an ice age and it's burn out, plain and simple. Since I blogged here, last, I've gone through two major life changes - car accident and my dad's passing, had a child enter high school, lost twenty pounds then gained back thirteen of 'em (blegh!) and turned in the fifth and final book in my Del Rio Bay series.
2008 was a rough year and I wasn't sad to see it go!
Still, as it stands, I'm entering a new phase as a writer. My series is finished and the economy is in the toilet right when I'm contract-less. But I choose to look at this time as a cleansing period. Once I turned in the manuscript of
Flipping The Script, I took a break from writing, a hiatus I'm slowly emerging from, as we speak.
That's right, I'm not done yet. I plan on writing plenty more YA fiction. So look out for me.
But if you really want to keep up with me and my happenings, ya' might want to hit me on Twitter (
www.twitter.com/paulachy) because keeping up with the many faces of P via my social networks has become a part-time job, for very little pay, I might add.
So I promise, you keep the love coming for my books and I'll keep the books coming.
