Current mood:  nostalgic

Yeah, I embrace tech and I essentially switched to the software domain (except for a few keyboard synths, and ur usuals - turntables, audio interface, outboard gear, etc).  And I sold my MPC2000XL a couple years back in favor of a couple software sequencers (Cubase, Reason).  But I can't even front, I miss my MPC!!

Yeah its true, Reason can do WAAAY more things than the MPC, is way more efficient, and the workflow is actually easier once you get over the learning curve.  BUT there is just something about programming drums and chopping up and sequencing samples on the MPC.  Its more of a feeling.  It feels more gratifying banging out beats on them pads.  And I feel like my drums had more punch on the MPC (even though I've developed tricks for emulating that same sound now).  But yeah, I'm thinking hard about repurchasing that MPC again, but I keep stopping myself cuz I know I dont really "need" it.  Ya dig?

Any of yall out there got or had gear you felt that way about?
