Kanye West... What comes to mind when you hear his name? The last fiasco? Or the many fiascos he has pulled over the years? Music?

I do look at him as a human who makes mistakes, of course there's a but...That was a choice. There are differences between mistakes and choices. Kanye had to sit there in his seat while thoughts ran through his mind, physically stand up, physically walk and physically grab the microphone and speak.

This is not a random person who came into the MTV Video Music Awards. This is an invited guest who was shown respect and trust to attend the show from a company who has supported him throughout his career and contributed to his success.

He is very apologetic. We saw that after Jay Leno's show last night, but does he get another pass? What if this was just a random person? How would you feel if someone did that to Kanye?

Singer, Taylor Swift was speechless after the incident, not because she was surprised by Kanye's action, but because she thought people were booing her and felt the audience felt that Beyonce should have won. How traumatizing. Taylor and Kanye have spoke and everything is fine. Anyways, that's over yet the real problem with our popular culture and the egotism and respect level passed on to the next generation still lingers.

If you open your mouth or commit to an action, then you should be able to withstand the consequences, right? He creates controversy and he should be able to endure it. After all, Kanye caused this one all on his own.

..This Morning I was on Siirus talking about this.  A caller had stated that she felt that Kanye has been "out of sorts" since his mother died last year. I quickly stated that back in the early 2000's (could not remember the year) when he didn't win the AMA for best new artist, and he carried on like he was the best ever in life....his Mom was alive and well. I view that statement and this latest one, as the same!

I also said that I think that Kanye's goal is to always make the highlight's recap reel after every awards show. That seems to be his personality. Sadly it  will not always be tolerated, like in this case.  I do not however think that it is the end of the world. It's not like he cussed her out stink and spit in her face. It wasn't right, he said sorry...she accepted....WE move on! If I could give him some advice....sometimes it is okay to KEEP QUIET! Shhhhh and let it rest now....for a while...please!

Eric

BTW I find it funny that President Obama called Kanye a "jackass."  Politics are in EVERYTHING! ..

Kanye is getting too old for all this drama he is causing.  That ws disrespectful, very disrespectful.  He would not have pulled that stunt on no other real thugged out artist, because he would have gotten his ass whipped.  He is a pretender and he needs something to stay relevant.  I can't believe this fool was on the red carpet with a bottle in his hand.  His girl was looking skanky, not a way I would want my lady to be looking at a event such as that one.

I admire Kanye's honesty and bravery to voice his opinions, but sometimes it can be a bit much and redundant. I thought it was tasteless for him to do what he had done at the VMAs. He could've shared his opinion somewhere else and/or at another time. I felt like he did it for attention and had nothing to do with Beyonce's video (I don't even agree with him stating it's her "best video of all time"). He obviously knew what he was doing when he came on stage with shades on covering his eyes to say what he wanted to say. As for Taylor Hicks, I think this stunt was a blessing in disguise for her as she becomes more famous and popular to pop culture.

I agree with all of your comments. It's not that we'll stop listening to his music nor are we bashing his talents/gifts. But this is a subject about Kanye. Isolated incident we're talking about. It has nothing to do with politics or what's going on next door. We are talking about Kanye and his actions which represent a lot of what's going on in our entertainment culture today. THAT alone affects MILLIONS of people. MILLIONS are influenced by entertainers' actions and words. So, yes, when we're done talking about this and learning from this, we'll move on...
