Hello,
Just a short note to remind you that the RRR Radiothon is in its final week this week. Those of you new to the list may not know that each Sunday arvo I present a segment (Warner Corner) on Jon von Goes' show on RRR, The JVG Radio Method. This year's Radiothon theme is 'disco'. Some great local musos were on the show last week...including Van Walker shedding (and shredding) 'Teardrops on the Dancefloor'. We also had The Junes, Mick Thomas, Jimmy Clinkerfield, Barb Waters, King Curly, Marcel Borrack and David Bridie (who performed an alarming version of 'It's Raining Men'). This year I'm attempting a Bee Gees double...last week I was lucky enough to have Jen Andeson and Dr Pump save my version of Too Much Heaven.
This week (Sun Aug 23) we move into the Triple R performance space, so you're welcome to come along and have a gander between 2 and 4 (and make sure you are dressed to disco). RRR is on the corner of Nicholson and Blythe St in Brunswick.
…And we'd also love you to subscribe to the radio station. Most of you know that RRR survives solely by listener subscriptions. If you subscribe during Radiothon you help to keep independent voices and independent music on air (presenters actually choose the music they play). You also go into the draw to win heaps of wizard prizes…check out the site for more details... www.rrr.org.au.
And, if you are subscribing to the station, why not subscribe during our show (2-4pm on Sunday) and TO our show…your subscription will also help keep our show on air…hell, you can even subscribe to Warner Corner if you wish. The phone number is 9388 1027
…looks like I'll be performing my album Night Parrots (and other hits) at The Corner Hotel on Sunday October 18, so pencil it in...
Thanks again and see you soon,
Dan
