Current mood:  awake
Lots of lovely people stateside have been asking when I might be over to tour the US. Rather than answer each one individually I thought I'd write a blog instead. To be honest a tour over there is top of my priority list. Didn't get to tour there with the release of "Beloved One" so I'm determined to make it soon. At present we're working on licensing "Bloom" over there and as soon as we do..I'm on my godamn way!

Here's were you guys come in tho. Had messages and comments from people all over the states (and Canada) but what would be really cool is if you could recommend special, atmospheric venues in your areas where an English rose could come play her songs, just her and her guitar...

Blessins...

definitely German House or the Bug Jar in Rochester NY. Western NY would love a show of yours, be it Rochester, Syracuse or Buffalo. Also, Toronto is amazing. Not sure if the liscensing deal would encompass Canada but if it does, I would highly recommend Palais Royale, (right on the Lake with a beautiful view of the Harbour) as well as Lee's Palace, El Mocambo, or the Horseshoe Tavern.

But, NYC is a must. Living Room and Joe's Pub are great. I don't know what capacity you're looking for, but I think both of those venues are a bit small for what i expect your draw to be.
Maybe the Knitting Factory?

at any rate, please come soon!

The Troubadour in Santa Monica has been host to Mogwai, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Songs: Ohia, and Low. That is my favorite venue in LA (I have seen over 300 live performances in my humble 33 years) and I would be thrilled to see you there!! Please come to LA, CA Lou! My wife and I would love to take you out to dinner here in Long Beach and we would even be happy to give you a place to sleep in our closet of an apartment! Please contact Fingerprints in Long Beach! They are a Fabulous record store that does amazing in-store concerts and often goes up to LA to sell merch for artists at their shows...

Let me know if I can be of any help! Thank you for the WONDERFUL music you have put out over the past 12 years!

In Sioux Falls, SD, Touch of Europe www. toejazz. com, Black Sheep Coffee on 12th and Grange, Michelle's (a little on the cozy side) www. michellescoffee. com, Paramount Studio Wine Bar on historic Philips Ave (just down the street from Michelle's), and quite a few other small bars and restaurants that would love a singer with your talent.

There's also the Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society JazzFest in July in Sioux Falls. They're always looking for more acts, and they have a cozy tent for the small acts or for people making a stop through at the last minute. They just added the 3rd stage last year, and I enjoyed that as much as the main stage.

Those are my ideas for Sioux Falls, SD. If you want others, check out the Sioux Falls websites on Google. Sioux Falls is close to Omaha, NE, which should have a few venues for you, and if you're looking for a little more publicity, try for a spot on A Prairie Home Companion (www. prariehome. org) with a stop in St. Paul, MN. The theater that the show is recorded in is a cozy theater with good acoustics, the show is broadcast all over the US and the world and is recorded live every week. I'll make the trip to St. Paul to see you there if you're there for the show.

Would Oddur be touring with you for this round?

I'm excited...I hope you come to the upper plains states. One warning, it gets pretty desolate when you head west until you get past the mountains.

The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN is a must. As a former booking agent and a fellow musician I believe you would really enjoy performing at the Ryman. There is simply nothing else like performing at this historic venue. It is the birth place of the Grand Ole Opry. The sound is AMAZING and the venue is BEAUTIFUL! Lots of character and lots of history. The venue's capacity is 2,362 and offers the crowd an itimate setting for those who prefer to listen and watch. To top it all off the venue was originally a church.

Please check out their website for more info: http://www. ryman. com/

And please, pretty please with a cherry on top come to Nashville.
We love you here!
Also, the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA is pretty nice too!

Kindest Regards,
Brooke Acred

I'll second the recommendation for the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia. You might also consider the Theatre of Living Arts here [I think they've recently renamed themselves Fillmore @ the TLA].

I could also picture an _awesome_ little intimate set at a place like Zebulon in Brooklyn.

Looking forward to the US tour! We've been waiting a _long_ time!

Lou!

Please play Los Angeles. The earlier poster who mentioned the Troubadour made a good choice. There are so many possible venues - McCabe's in Santa Monica is historic and very homey also: http://www. mccabes. com/. Largo might be another choice: http://www. largo-la. com/largohome. html, and there's another lovely place called Tangier:http://www. tangierrestaurant. net. I would be absolutely happy to do what I can to help, as I know a few people who have connections to some places and music folks in town.

Also, if you need a place to stay, I live in a wonderful, funky, wood-floored house in a tranquil tidepool of LA - Pasadena....I live near the foothills and across the street from a canyon. And there are oak trees, peacocks, and wild green parrots that roam the neighborhood.

Thanks for sharing your beauty and your wonderful gifts of soul and sound.

Ms Angel Lou, bless you and your soulful songs. A venue to consider is the peaceful and intimate Roots Festival in Joshua Tree, CA set among the mountains of a very magical desert this October.

The energy here is most invigorating, spiritual and healing--there is even nearby a perfectly tuned rejuvenation machine called the Integratron (the only perfectly tuned space in the USA).

Cheers and much luck to you on planning your tour, which is anticipated with much excitement!
