"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times."
I'm back from Paris 3 days now & still reeling from the experience. I was met at the train station by
Palem, who had called me to invade Paris last autumn at a gig in Edinburgh.
It looks like I'll be back in France soon, thanks to a promotion &
distribution agreement with Palem and his promo/distro label
GoneParisGone.
I arrived Tuesday and
Couchsurfed that evening with a great couple near Belleville.
I was apprehensive about the language thing for both gigs on Wednesday & Friday, but:
*.*
Réalisation 1: respect for the artist: pindrop silence both nights
*.*
Réalisation 2: dynamics make a difference: when nervous or out of practice
I was overwhelmed by the positive response, by overhearing people discussing my songs 15 minutes after I disembarked from the stage, by being asked to come back for a longer stretch next time.

I had a lot of fun, not least of all:
++talking crap on air at Radio Libertaire till about 3am Thursday morning
++snoozing in the sunshine on the grass in front of Montmartre & being moved on by the guard
++meeting a percussionist & managing to perform with him like we'd been playing for years
++THE FOOD! especially at Le Cave se Rebiffe
Thanks to Palem for booking, videos, & radio showgrammes, to Elizabeth Nguyen for photos, to Eric for the terrific session at Radio Libertaire on Friday.
Am I going back to France? Hells, Yeah!
