Wit's End Films was invited to attend the red carpet Gala Opening of Europes largest sound stage (a 42,000 sq. ft. behemoth at Barrandov Studios in Prague).  So we went.

We arrived Saturday (Dec. 9th) and did the discos all night.  Pilsner Urquell was the beverage of choice.  Sunday (after a short sleep) we did the walk and gawk tourist thing around Old Town.  That evening we had a lovely dinner with the former director of United Artists, Norbert Auerbach, and his colleagues, Jeremy Willis and Dale Wyatt who would become our chief liasons during our stay.

Monday found us touring Prague Castle.  That night we arrived on the red carpet and were greeted by exploding fireballs and a row of attractive Czech hostesses.  The event itself was amazing.  Great food, great music and several dance and stunt performances on a variety of sets built through the sound stage.  During the festivities, we did manage to find Jeremy and Dale among the 1500 guests.  They introduced us to Vaclav Rouha (AMADEUS), a well-respected Czech producer.

Like losers, we left our camera at the hotel.  Luckily, we met up with some friendly Czech dancers from the show and had them take our picture (which they emailed us - thank you, ladies).  Tuesday morning we, along with our new friend Jeremy, enjoyed a VIP tour of the Barrandov Studios lead by Marketing Manager, Jan Susta.

Over coffee, discussions were had about partnering with Barrandov on various projects.  WEF will be pursuing this avenue in the up-coming year.  Stay tuned.  Shortly after our tour, we were back on the plane headed home.  It was whirlwind, but well worth it.  Prague is a beatiful city and the people are as friendly as any in Europe.
