Have you ever dissolved completely into a luminous presence?
Have you ever melted into your environment?
Do you imagine that your veins are rivers and you bones are granite?
Can you feel the universe swirling inside of each pore?
I had an experience where I became one with the earth.
I could feel her heat and cooling, her sweltering turbulence.
Each breath I breathed filled the entire sky.
In that evervescent gossamer light a voice asked me . . .
"Can you feel it now?
Infinite power, imagination, potential?
Can you feel that you are made out of everything that you see?
When you feel that you are truly one with all of creation, then you will become as creator.
Do not fear you limitless power."
This is truth, pure and simple.
I closed my eyes, and prayed for the trip to abide.
Then a voice that was my own spoke from my very lips.
"We are one."
And fear merged with innocence
Joy merged with sorrow.
You merged with me.
And my mind became the clouds, and my feet became the roots and my heart beat with all the oceans of the earth pounding waves on my shore.
