Hold Everything Sacred, Take Nothing Too Seriously ...
Ken Rahn - White and Nerdy, Clean and Dirty

Hey, Karl.  Saw your comment on our Cuervo picture... thanks for the look.  I tried sending you a message, but it wasn't working because you were away.  So I thought I'd try this method, as well as give you kudos.  I heard one of Brian's songs on Myspace, and understand that you were the one that recorded it.  The reason I say this is because I absolutely love the way you had the guitar and vocals sounding, and I want to be able to do the same thing in my home studio.  I use Cubase, and was wondering if there's a way you can tell me the Reverb Settings, or any other effects you used to make it sound so amazing.  Also, maybe on the message side (instead of through a blog), I'd love to hear how you have your equipment set up (are you mic'ing the guitar, or plugging straight into your sound card... did you record guitar and vocals at separate times to a click track, etc.).  And lastly, you've got to teach Barbara and me how to do cool things like embedded pictures in our bio... I love the way it looks.

Well, it looks like you're keeping busy as always, and I really hope things are going well for you there.  I'll always appreciate you opening my eyes to Hampton Roads music, and allowing me inside the family.

- Ken

similar to Elbert Hubbard (NO relation to l ron hubbard!) who said "Never take life too seriously, no one's ever gotten out of it alive!"...one of the original commune/hippies , but from 1913 or so......
