Well, it's that time! I'm officially, or should I say finally, making the move to the east coast. I'll be living in Farifax, Va but training at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in preparation for the Olympic Trials in June. I have mixed feelings about this transition but overall I'm excited for the change, the new training environment, new coaching, new training workouts, new training partners, etc. etc. I really believe it's a positive move for me and I am looking forward to getting back into my element of training and discipline again AND seeing the fruits from it.
Since my last blog, a very wonderful & amazing person has come into my life and helped restored some lost joy by sharing his own life experiences. His nonjudmental & unconditional love has been the best unexpected encounter I've experienced in a very very long time. I pray everyone in my circle, family & friends alike, experiences that kind of genuine love at least once in their lifetime.
Well, it is just impossible for me to say goodbye to everyone I know & love in San Diego. I have been preoccupied with the move and wrapping up business here up until the very minute of my departure. Since I hate good-byes, I'm sure on some subconscious level I have simply avoided doing so. :-) However, I believe the ones who truly love me and care about me to some degree will understand and wish me well anyway. Remember, the move is only a temporary one. I'll be returning to San Diego periodically for lengthy visits and in a few short years to live again. I'm not sure how long I'll continue to train & compete in the sport, but it definitely won't be before I've had the opportunity to give myself a 100% chance of realizing my potential. Besides, as long as I have the passion to make the sacrifices necessary to succeed in the sport, I'm sure I'll stick around. :-) When that passion is extinguished, then I'll gladly move on to the next chapter in my book of life, because I'm just as excited about the other plans I have when I exit the sport.
