"Some thoughts about Rest of forest"

I have listened with expectations and
also agree with your thoughts about Aphex Twin. Listening back now, it is
even more obvious. Squarepusher and Mu-Ziq sound dated in comparison.
Unfortunaly, there is also a lot of really technical Aphex Twin imitations
these last years. Now, it sounds like Aphex Twin melodies are the element
that is the hardest to imitate, his sense for beautiful dissonance
integrated in elegant melodies.

About Rest of forest :

Well, I didn't write the previous text in purpose, but there is some of this
beautiful dissonance isn't it ? William S. Burroughs...and once again I hear
some Autechre sense of mathematical progression (grande_reacao), but it is a
superficial comparison. This band is way too repetitive for its own good
(and also only cares for electro). Your stuff flows with a sense of wonder,
a childish energy, never stuck in a mode, something I wanted more from you
while listening to your previous album.

Mil Pulsos, quiet a wonder..Listened to Miles Davis - Get Up with it this
week. I hear a good jazz fusion sensitivity in your music, almost like you
were doing it from another planet perspective, only with electronic sounds
and without the urge to make people dance. Not sure how you make it work.
The stretched sounds usually don't get me (over used in the drum'n'bass
era), but in this piece you make them sound like an orchestra with several
strings instruments. Maybe, everything is in the layering..I try to do that
too.

Circuito das Águas sounds like some of my electronic improvisations put
together. Some are not bad and could make pieces alone. I try to avoid all
presets.

Well, good work, specially Mil Pulsos, a really sensitive piece."
