Hello,
We have just finished our first tour supporting old friends, Mumford and Sons. We would like to thank them for having us and also, a big thank you to all the Mumford fans who unwittingly found themselves as our audience - so generous in welcoming us to their cities were they all - it was a real blast for us and we had the time of our lives.
As a post-tour introduction, and because I never remember when I’m on stage, the band that traveled with me was made up of Ruth on bass, Giovanna on keyboard and vocals and Dave Powell on drums. I hope as many of you as possible will get to know these few, but proven warriors.
Perhaps one of the things that struck me while on the road was how consistently different the people were in the different towns we visited: how they reacted to us; how they reacted to Mumford. I felt it really kept me on my toes as you continually have to fight for their favor. I found this difference interesting as it shows that a part of one's identity comes from where we dwell and are raised. I never felt that this was an alienating factor but one that personalizes each town and region.
The summer has now morphed from moment to memory and most of the moments I had were, on the whole, worth remembering. I spent some time on the high seas, I spent some time in the Highlands and I spent some time with my family. Now that the time for holidays is over I want to spend more time with you.
I hope some of you will join me for the release of my second single, Love Lust, later this month: we will be having a party at the Lexington in London to mark the occasion. I hope to see some of you there.
Love,
KC
