Yes, it's hot here in Asheville, NC. NOT as hot as it was last night in Columbia, South Carolina where we played a show for about 10 people and a few large palmetto bugs that I could've sworn were cockroaches...that was at Cafe Strudel where they no longer serve strudel (which is, in case you were wondering, a large German turnover with flaky pastry and sometimes golden raisins). We had a lovely host named Michelle who had five cats and assorted garden gnomes on her front steps. She brought us to a great bar called The Whig, divey, dark and peppered with bug collections and animal skulls.
We're going to play the streets of this town and show them a can or two about how New Englanders party. Oh, that's right. Busking we will be. And onto Athens, GA tomorrow! We miss our Valley people! Back July 20!
