This sucks:( Their trying to go too far into the "rap" genre:( I wish they'd go back to their roots, to songs like "Cold", "Washing The World Away", etc.

This is rap to you...seriously?

Their first album had small "bursts" of rapping, but this is more or less a straight up rock song...I can understand your concern about that since the small bursts of rap-style on their first album were picked at by the critics and weren't really all that necessary...but I'm just not feeling it on this song.

They will always be my favorite band but I don't know how I feel about this song yet.

... I wish they would go back to the way they were with their first album ... I mean this song has potential, the lyrics are good, but the way it's being performed is rather annoying. If I was flipping through the radio stations, I would flip on by this song, cause it's not catchy like colors, so far away, & the way Cold were catchy.. I don't mean to be a bitch about it, I just hate seeing bands change, and crossfade really changed during the second album and it wasn't for the better. I was so excited to see that second album come out cause of how great the first album was and I bought it without even previewing it, and I was only left with disappointment cause it was all soft and shit like that, and now you've gone to this stuff where you keep your voice at one tone and you matching your instruments with that tone sounding like robots.

:( but this just the first song on the next album, maybe they won't all be like that... :(

It's a demo, people.
No need to get defensive, hey?

I appreciate that they're trying to do stuff that's different instead of releasing clones of the first album over and over.

I was really skeptical pressing play but it's definately different and nothing like the first album. It doesn't seem to really have any 'flow' to the song. Ed has a great voice and definately showed it in the first and 2nd (Which I didn't really care for) but this sounds sooo mono-toned... idk if its the quality of the video but it also seems kinda static(y) so to speak and his voice is hidden behind everything. If this is their path, thats good for them, another style of music out there but I sure wouldn't buy this cd if the rest sounds similar.

Well the good thing is that it's only a demo. Hopefully they rearrange a few things before releasing it. Im not sure if i like it yet, but i can def. say that i like the old crossfade better.
