Current mood:  chipper

So, you know how it is when you've been putting something off for ages, as you don't want to get frustrated, if it all proves too difficult to finish off properly?

Okay, maybe not.  Perhaps it's just another one of those things you can nail down as a "quirk"?

The thing is, I know I had to edit some old video footage to be released on DVD format, and halfway through editing I realised that the sound had gone out of sync with the vision.  Looked like a badly dubbed Hong Kong martial arts movie.  Save for the fact there's no people getting a good kicking in the visuals!  Or indeed any bizarre yelps and squeals.

Well, second attempt to do a burn failed (four hours waiting, and you find it's all still gone to hell in a hand basket).  But then ... revelation!

There's actually an option in the software to deliberately out-sync sound and vision.  What this means is that you can ALSO put sound in-sync with vision if for some reason it's off a bit.

And certainly on the preview it looks like it's worked.  The burning goes on as I write this, and a quiet confidence fills the soul!

You never know, might be a case of one down, four to go...
