Well, this will be the last blog. The tour has come to an end. Thank you guys for reading and keeping up with me. I hope you have enjoyed hearing about the travels. Thanks to those of you who were able to make it to the shows! I have mixed feelings about the end of the tour. On one hand it's good to be home, but I think I am going to miss being on the road. I will start putting another together for the new year soon. Tonight I played in Sylva, NC, a town I had never even drivin through before. I enjoyed it for sure. The Guadalupe Cafe is the second show I have had in a bar that was formerly a drug store. Maybe that's the next trend in hip bar settings. A quick drive across the mountains brought me home and here I am.
On this tour I have gotten to see a lot of friends and cover a lot of miles. I drove a total of 5748.5 miles. The furthest point south was Miami, west was San Antonio, east was Charleston, SC, and north was good old Knoxville. I saw weather from nearly 95 degrees and sunny to 32 degrees and snowing (tonight on the drive home). I drank Lone Star beer in Texas and rode a bicycle 15 miles. I saw both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. When I left home, gas was $2.69 and tonight has dropped to $1.89 (a low I thought we may never see again). The lowest I saw was $1.85 somewhere near the SC/GA line on I-85. I have slept in comfy beds, on couches, on floors, and in the front seat of the car (thanks to everyone who opened their homes to me). Hell, I even saw a lunar lander in Mississippi. Best of all I was able to stand up and play tunes for you guys night after night. Thank you! I hope to see you all again real soon.
