'Every now and again Australia offers up a female musician that is able to combine a polished pop sound with a tougher rock edge from The Divinyls through to Little Birdy and the Howling Bells. Maxine Kauter is now part of this tradition' - Drum Media
Maxine Kauter and her 'Lies Tour' come to Sydney for a hometown show after a string of east coast dates. Kauter and her band (Shannon Haritos and Steve Beverly) are happy to be home and take to the Vanguard stage for an evening playing for their hometown crowd.
The three-piece have established a reputation for producing tight groove-based shows that underpin indie folk lilts and rockier tunes. The voice and the songs are the stars: lyrically and melodically rich. If you like Cat Power, PJ Harvey and the Howling Bells you'll probably like this too.
They will be joined by Newcastle chanteuse Amy Vee, currently touring her new album. They will also be joined by dear friend Adam Young (Daisygrinders/Big Heavy Stuff) and his incredible band Grandbanks.
