When is your birthday?
December 14

How did you get started playing?
Watching my mom and dad play.  It was also a form of entertainment at all of our family reunions.

What are your major musical influences?

My mom and dad as well as many professional artists such as Merle Haggard, George Strait, Alan Jackson and Brad Paisley.

Do you have a favorite original Deepstep song?

I really like the new one that we're working on, Country Life.  On our cd it's probably Pretty Love or The Best That I Can Do

What is in your cd player right now?
Luke Bryan - I'll Stay Me

If you could play/perform with any other musician who and why?
Brad Paisley because I respect all aspects of his work.  He's a singer, songwriter and an outstanding musician.

Can you describe how the fans energy relates to your performance?

They are 1/2 of the show.  Without their energy there wouldn't be a show. Everyone on stage feeds off their energy and performs better.

If you were not a musician what would you want to do?

Probably what I did before I started singing, a network administrator and computer technician.

What equipment do you use?

I play a Taylor 310ce acoustic guitar through a Crate CA30DG.  I also have a Fender Acoustasonic Jr DSP, but rarely use it.  Can't quite get the sound I want out of it.

What has been your biggest accomplishment personally or musically?
Having a fan tell me that they got saved while listening to the gospel song that I wrote, Reflections.

Do you have and pre show rituals or habits?

Not really, we try to just stay calm and have a good time.

When you are not playing music what do you like to do?
Going to Disneyworld.  My wife and I have been about 30 times.  I'm a Disney nut!  I also enjoy photo and video editing.

What is your favorite food?
Steak and potatoes.

Name a city or venue that you cannot wait to play at?
Never really thought that hard about it, probably the Grand Ole Opry with my family in the crowd.

Any hidden talents besides great music?
Not really.  I used to be a graphic artist. I'm decent at Photoshop and Corel Draw.  I designed our website, cd cover and all of our t-shirts.

We also have a few questions from some fans:

Earl from Macon, Ga.
I heard you guys signed a record contract. Who did you sign with?
We signed a recording contract with Cupit Records.

Lucy from Effingham County, Ga
I live between Statesboro and Savannah wonder if you all are going to be
singing in any of those places. I have never heard you all but would love to.
We will be playing in Statesboro at Plantation Room - Rum Runners on  September 21.

Kerry from Tallahassee, FL
How long does it usually take you to write a song?

It really depends, some of our songs just kind of hit you and you have a song in 10-15 minutes, some take months.  Most of the time you just write down ideas as they hit you and add to them little by little.
