So since the last time.... We had a gig in LA - which was fun fun fun!!! We played our hearts out and poor Mika jumped up and twisted his foot which ended up with him tearing some ligaments or tendons - I forget what.... Then after that we got cussed by blogger/journalist Lefsetz - (which is a common occurence) he said we sounds too perfect and that we were miming!! Which is hilarious - a true compliment to us as musicians!!! We drove over night after that show to Oakland. The gig that night was SO much fun - after our miming critic - we had fun playing and messing about and singing and playing harder!!! Also with the poor, "One foot boy", Mika we all jumped that little higher for him!!! We then made our way to Seattle, what a great City!! Saw the fish throwing - drank the coffee - did the shopping.....uh-oh.... he he!!! Played the gig - a great old theatre - great crowd!! After here we drove up to Canada again and ended up in Vancouver - our last gig :( We played in a club, with a sprung dance floor - so everone jumped higher!!! It was a great night to end with a few jokes in the set - score cards for Mika's trumpet solo and silly string!! Was a great night! We ended the tour with a day off in Vancouver - ate again at the Elbow room Cafe and got verbally abused as was expected - love it there!! So....am back now - I really enjoyed playing with Mika and the band - we had alot of fun!!! Was really nice playing and hanging out with everyone!!! Got a couple of days off and then off for more fun and frolicks!! So - for those of you who don't know I have a gig with my own stuff on the 12th Nov at The Underbelly in Hoxton, London £5 before 8:15 pm and £8 after. Am on stage at 9pm See you there!!!! iMMa x

Hey iMMa, I caught all these shows plus Toronto and Montréal.  You and the whole band were fantastic on this tour.  The small acoustic gigs Mika did in the spring were a fan's dream come true but I still looked forward to the larger high energy performances of a regular tour and you did not disappoint!  Even after getting a sneak peek there were still lots of surprises in Toronto and each show had a different vibe.

I can't believe the audacity of Lefsetz although I guess you have to take accusations of too much perfection as a compliment!  I had a clip of Mika's first Tonight Show appearance on YouTube back in early 2007 and had comments on a regular basis asking if Mika was lip synching because his performance was so flawless.  I had just seen him perform for the first time a couple of days prior and have to admit I had a hard time reconciling what I was hearing with this skinny kid on a tiny Toronto club stage.  I watched him very closely during Relax because his voice sounded amazing to the point of being almost unbelievable.

Now that it's almost 3 years on and Mika has sold millions of albums and performed in arenas you'd think someone with Lefsetz's experience would know better, but whatever!  Any fan there who wasn't deaf, dumb and blind knows the truth and we all appreciate your extraordinary efforts.

I wish I could make it to Hoxton but I won't be going to the UK until February.  I hope to see you in Belfast!

I'm SO glad you're having a ridiculously good time! Kinda wish I could experience it with you guys, without sounding too creepy or weird. You guys have a brilliant lifestyle, though I do know it's hard at times!
And that guy is an absolute jerk (I've gone all American all of a sudden, please excuse me.) He says he was a genuine fan of Mika...yet decided he no longer to be after deciding that Mika sounded too perfect? Kind of like a backhanded compliment, no? Weirdo.

ANYWAYS...back in the UK eh? I must really keep up with the schedule, I was without the internet for a week. Cripes. Well, looking forward to seeing Mika and crew at Little Noise Session! I wonder if you will be there.

I have a present to give to Mika - an official Astroboy movie poster!! Fresh from the cinema. I hope he'll like it, and hopefully get to see you all after!!

Have a good rest!

x

Hi iMMa, the tour seemed to go sooo quickly--easy for me to say!  Anyway, ALL the shows looked fantastic.  Really glad I was able to get to at least the NYC one.  MIKA is fortunate to have you as part of the cast.  BRAVO for everyone: cast, crew and MIKA!  You all work so hard, enjoy your days off AND your days on!

Hey girl! Was great seeing you on this tour. I can't believe it's over already; I wish it was October 12 again.

I couldn't believe Lefsetz' comments either. It's just such an outrageous accusation that I had to give my head a shake a few times before I could comprehend what I was reading. In Vancouver both you and Mika were close enough to us that I could hear your vocals without amplification. And what did he think you were miming to, anyway? The album recordings? The arrangements and the vocals are obviously different from the album, anyone who pays any attention can hear that. Even they lyrics change somewhat. Unless perhaps Mika is just *that* sneaky that he's pre-recorded versions to mime to -- which include altered lyrics and even the occasional mess-up. ;) Like everyone is saying, take it as a compliment. You guys sounded fantastic in Toronto, and only got fantastic-er as the tour continued. We could also see the chemistry building among everyone on stage. Vancouver was like a great big party! Love it.

Did you guys really go back to the Elbow Room a second time, the day after the gig? I love it, it's my go-to place whenever I'm in Vancouver, so I'm glad you guys liked it, too. The food is fantastic, and the jabs are funny. They told my husband that if he was going to start counting his calories, he should have started a long time ago. Ha!

Hope the jetlag eases up for you soon. Enjoy your time off, and the frolicks that follow!

Poor Mika... He has been unlucky this time...I hope he recovers soon!

I must compliment you... during a concert you create a world apart ... seems to go on a different planet!

Yeah, I also have to jump on the 'stupid, blind, deaf and dumb blogger' bandwagon. Clearly, he has no idea what the heck hes' talking about, but hopefully the people who really matter can see reality for what it is :-)
You guys were all fabulous on stage, super talented and REAL, and obviously so was Mika, as usual. Who cares what some loser thinks.

Anyway, thanks for these blogs, they're fab! See you soon and keep them going!

xx
