Our love story…

The night of Wednesday the 4th, I had a dream that Nelson asked me to marry him. (I know, I'm sidekick right?) (The ring was hideous… it was huge and pink and gross!) So, Thursday morning when I told him about my dream, he laughed it off saying, "So whad'ya say?". To which I responded, "I was wearing the ring… so I guess I said yeah." Well, I had to work the night shift that night and right before I left for work he asked me to take a look at something with him. It was a ring brochure. He basically asked me what cut I liked. I told him, "We have been dating for 8 years… you know me… you know what I like!" He dropped the subject… never asking a ring size or what color gold I would Like to have… I was none the wiser!

(Fast forward)

Friday came and went. (By the way… that night we went to a totally kick ass REO Speedwagon, Stix, and Def Lepard concert! It was GREAT!!!!)

(Fast Forward)

 Saturday (07/07/07 for those of you who remember) came and we sort of just had a lazy day… you know, Laid out by the pool, watched a movie, walked the dog… just played all day long. So… you know me… I was starting to get bored just sitting around and he asked if I would like to ride with him to Delphi (our home town… where we grew up together) so that we could bring his dad a game that we had borrowed. I said, "Nah, I think I'll go work out while you're gone." He responded by saying that he just kinda sorta wanted to hang out with me and asked me not to work out. (Looking back on it, I should have known something was up… he really loves working out.) So I said, "Oh alright you twisted my arm, I won't go work out." So 6:30 rolls around and he said lets head out… (CLIMAX… of the story, perv!) So, we are about half way to Delphi and he started playing a CD that he had burned for me about 4 years ago… all love songs. When I heard what CD it was I said (Like the brat that I am) ,"Hey, that's my CD." He just sort of blew it off and said we should listen to it because it brought back memories. So about 3 minutes away from the Town of Delphi, he pulls out a blindfold. (So,now my heart starts beating a little bit faster but he's been talking about purchasing a house so I thought maybe it was that and he was just very excited. Obviously I didn't put two and two together… CD + Blindfold = Engagement.) So I put it on and he drove around a while longer then began to slow down and our song started playing… Amazed; by Lonestar. (Pause for AWWW! So now my heart is really pounding out of my chest and I know what is next) So he helps me out of the car and takes the blindfold off (Music playing in the background) We were in the parking lot of Delphi High School in the exact spot where we started dating 8 years prior and he's standing there trying so hard not to lose it and Behind him sits an umbrella with a table and a basket filled with Champagne and glasses, and a blanket to sit on. The I looked at his face… he was trying to choke out the words But his face was quivering and he was nervous and fighting back tears, but he did great and gave his very romantic proposal, Then said, "I just want you to spend the rest of your life with me", then bent down to one knee and said, "WILL YOU MARRY ME?". I said… "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" (Just kidding) I said, "Yes!! Yes!! A Thousand times Yes!!." (You know, while I'm sobbing… all I had to do was look at him and the waterworks started.) Then we hugged and when he swung me around I saw Styrofoam cups in the tennis court fence spelling out the words Will you Marry Me? With little flowers stuck here and there! I started crying even harder, then his mom and sister came running out and welcomed me to their family and I started crying even harder, snapped a few pictures and left! Then we popped the cork and it flew so far away (Which I heard was a sign of good luck!) We had a toast and the rest is History.

We have no plans yet. We don't know how long the engagement will be (Please not more than a year, please not more than a year), we have no date set, we don't even know the season yet. All we know is that we are more in love than we have ever been, we have each other, and that's all we have to know right now! That's the story!!!!!!
