Current mood:  content

2008 was a great year for SLB.   A year that saw the addition of Al Plourde ..s as a fulltime member.......a year that was filled with some great gigs, and blossoming attention for a young band.....and ended with the addition of an entirely new rythem section.   But with out further ado, here is the top 10 of 2008.

10.) Labor Day BBQ - Its always fun to get your picture in the paper.   Especially in color.  And thats exactly what we managed to do for the second time in our short tenure, this pic captures the band jamming it up for the Donelson Station Senior Center Fundraiser.....so what if its smaller? http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=61445564&albumID=2407546&imageID=37024429

9.) Blondie and Viking - On 1/2/08 Dave and Ashley kicked the year off in style with a candid interview with Blondie and Viking from their morning show.   If you missed it, catch it here in the archives: http://sugarlimeblue.com/podcasts.htm

8.) Franlin Farmers Market - Thanks James for the fun times and good friends you introduced us to at the Franklin Winter Market.   We enjoyed the good jams and great people...and thanks for the farm fresh eggs, home made soaps and winter greens everyone....oh and not to mention Hatcher Dairy's Chocholate Milk!!!!

7.) Mommapalooza - Mandy you and the artsy momma's and poppa's dance real fine to the sounds of SLB....we should consider having you in our next music vid! lol.  Keep up the creative flow artsy people!

6.) Rivers and Spires Festival - Being selected to be one of the acts of a festival with well over 20,000 in attendance over 3 days is an honor in and of itself.  But it was really great to hit the ground running with new edition Al Plourde.  The band wasted no time kicking off with a nod to the Dead as they walked "Shakedown Street" for and opener.  http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=61445564&albumId=1906158

5.) SLB Video: Talkin' to Yourself - Thanks to original member Michael Adams for all the cool footage and hard work that it took to compile this vid.   Hitting the site just before Christmas, it is new and not everyone has enjoyed it yet but you can find it here:   http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.showvids&friendID=61445564&n=61445564&MyToken=96e58f77-32d0-4188-b64d-ebaa414f2ca6

4.) 4th of July Celebration - Getting to make new friends and reuniting with old ones.   That was the theme of this 4th.   Thank you Troy and friends for making us feel welcome as Mike Adams filled in on drum kit and the band jammed nearly 4 hours under threatening skies, that saw no rain, but plenty of fireworks both on and off the stage!

3.) Billy Goat 12/5/08 - the Goat is always special, and we thank everyone who comes so often many of you month in and month out....but add to the special atmosphere a surprise birthday party for Ashley that saw her showered with gifts, flowers, cards, and more...this was an evening to remember

2.) Nashville Dragon Boat Races - Over 8,000 in attendance at the Dragon Boat races listened and danced to the sounds of SLB as they burned through a short set during intermission.   Even better, we have it on the downlow that SLB is included in the plans for nexts years event!

1.) Everyone - Not to sound cheesy but its each and every person who made 2008 special.  All the folks at the Billy Goat that come every single month, the promoters and new friends we met, the band members new and old and the relationships we made in and out of the band.   The songs and music we play is a common bond amongst us all.  Thank you for giving us the opportunity to play for you this past year.
