Organic and Ethical T-Shirt from Finnish Rock Legends H.I.M.
The Hemp Trading Company (THTC) has teamed up with the celebrity-based charity 'Whatever it Takes' to produce an exclusive eco t-shirt, designed by Finnish Rock legends H.I.M.
Whatever It Takes is a unique charity brand which gathers artwork from celebrities who draw a symbol of hope and a self portrait and write message of hope for the future. These artworks are then being used to create products, proceeds from which are donated to the charity of the celebrities' choice. Whatever It Takes has recently teamed up with the Finnish Rock Legends H.I.M. whose lead singer, Ville Vallo has designed a personalised autographed t-shirt
The t-shirts are made by THTC from a fine blend of fabric consisting of 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton, instead of 100% cotton, and this can save over 200 gallons of water per t-shirt.

You can own a piece of HIM's artwork and support the charities of his choice; Trade plus Aid and International Work of the British Red Cross as a minimum of £4 for each t-shirt purchase will go to these charities.

Background Information
The goal of Whatever It Takes charitable brand is to sell 'merchandise with a meaning'. The charity campaign has a simple concept; they gather artwork from celebrities and each donates a symbol of hope, a self portrait and message of hope for the future. These artworks are being used to create products including charity wristbands, clothing, tableware and ethical cosmetics released on the Whatever It Takes Label.
THTC is redefining hemp clothing and presenting a whole new concept in sustainable fashion.
• Using 55% hemp in a t-shirt instead of 100% cotton, can save over 200 gallons of water per t-shirt.
• The average 100% cotton T-shirt only contains 73% cotton, the rest is made up of chemicals and resins.
• In order to grow 9 ounces of cotton required to make a standard t-shirt, a farmer will use 3 ounces of chemical fertilizers (17 teaspoons) and 1/8 ounce (3/4 teaspoon) of pesticide active ingredients (that's almost half a cup)
• Bi-products of the hemp plant include clean, efficient engine fuel, paper pulp, bio-plastics and building blocks for housing.
THTC (The Hemp Trading Company) was established in 1999 as a means to promote the environmental and ethical advantages of hemp, producing a range of urban street wear for the discernible 'urban-warrior-about-town'. THTC clothing is worn by the eco-minded, including some of the UK's most influential hip-hop, drum and bass and reggae artists, including Goldie, Morcheeba, Benjamin Zephaniah, De La Soul, Asian Dub Foundation, Rodney P and The Mad Professor. It is THTC's mission to bring ethical, ecological clothing to the high street.
All THTC clothing is built under ethical conditions in factories in China which are regularly and independently monitored. Hemp is organically grown by nature, requiring no pesticides to be grown and the cotton is certified organic and is grown in Turkey.
Top designer Louis Ten Kate worked alongside Ville Vallo to create the final artwork for the t-shirt.
