...in fact, in my household, it has done - I've been listening to this latest C90 compilation with the TV Glasto highlights turned down, and boy the crowd looked up for it. The flag waving at the pyramid stage that greeted Jimmy McGriff's "Flying Home" was understandable but heart warming nonetheless.

So here's the track list to "Cattle Songs" in all it's pretentiously eclectic glory...

Side A
The Go Betweens - Cattle And Cane
The See See - Keep Your Head
The Jesus Years - Tom Seabourne Ph.D.
The Fleur De Lys - Circles
The Staggs - 36-24-37
The Libertines - Last Post On The Bugle (live)
Crystal Stilts - Love Is A Wave
Bird Nest Roys - Bus Stop
Hot Damn - Let's Do Something Cheap And Superficial
Winston's Fumbs - Real Crazy Apartment
XTC - Atom Age
Rare Earth - Ma's (instrumental)
Eddy Current Suppresion Ring - That's Inside Of Me
Beth Jeans Houghton - Night Swimmer

Side B
Matumona Orchestre Cavacha - O Mimita 1
Foxes! - Who Killed Rob ?
Thee Oh Sees - Tidal Wave
Guided By Voices - Do The Earth
The Virtues - Guitar In Orbit
They Came From The Stars (I Saw Them) - The Unstoppable Kite
Jimmy McGriff - Flying Home
Eclection - Mark Time
Tyvek - Summer Things
David Holmes - My Mate Paul (Major Force Mix)
Tim And Sam's Tim And The Sam Band With Tim And Sam - Summer Solstice
Jeffrey Lewis And The Junkyard - Roll Bus Roll

Mention to Ben Graham, who's kind gift of an early Floyd bootleg CD has lent itself to the samples bookending Side B. Aaaand that's about it for now.

 Cheers !

Surely any Glasto watching tape (real or drowned) has to include:-
(there is a law that all have to included)
Tom Jones - f*ck, I thought he was going to melt at one stage.  Oi, Eavis and that scrawny Stella McCartney wannabee daughetr of yours, it's not funny, ironic, or indeed cool.  It's sh*T!!

Black Eyed Peas/Lady Ga Ga/any one of fifteen million 'dance acts' - In order to stop Zane Lowe going misty eyed and threatening full frontal masturbation at the 'energy and spectacle' these acts exhude, no more.  Jumping about for 40 minutes is just that. Jumping around for 40 minutes...nothing more. Oh and shouting the songs doesn't help neither.

Flags? Why?

and Phil, in order to get that full Glasto vibe you have to have Jo Whiley sitting there on your sofa, legs akimbo, eyes at the point of closing, babling on about her flaming kids.  So what Jo, wait till they have to PAY for their own tickets when you end up on Heart in ten years time.  Let's see if they 'vibe' then.....

I did like Nick Cave though!
