I don't usually share personal financial information... but I had something happen today that I feel the need to share with everyone in hopes that having this knowledge may prevent you from having a similar issue...

We contacted Verizon a few weeks ago to see how we could optimize our plan... they made changes without sharing all the details and removed my unlimited texting without telling us on June 21. I go into the store on July 4 to get a new phone... the store employee saw the issue and changed it back without even mentioning it... we had no clue. Got a bill for $430 just in texting overages!!!

Upon calling Verizon, they refused to see THEIR error and tried to stick us with the bill. $430 for texting between June 21- July 4... after arguing and fighting it, and contact the Better Business Bureau, Verizon finally reversed the charges... sneaky bastards... watch your bills people... these big companies are stealing from us little people all the time. We need to take a stance!

Thank you. Need to watch all the loan companies and big companies. They try to nickle and dime you to death. Watch all the credit card companies. Raise rate without proper warning.

Alana, I'm sorry that happened to you. I'm glad they saw they were at fault and eventually reveresed the charges beautiful. Good job on sticking with it until they admitted their error. Too many people just want to appease the cell phone companies and just take it lieing down when they are overcharged. I'm glad to see you are willing to fight for what you believe in!

AT&T tried to do the same thing to me, basically I raised hell and made an complete asshole of myself and they backed down. Once they found out I was a Narcotics Cop, they did everything I wanted and I a hurry. Sometimes, it pays to be one of the good guys in blue.

Be cautious of Sprint as well, I got a brand new phone (the piece of crap RANT)when I started using them and had to go through 7 in 6 months because they kept locking up or just not working. I eneded up having to buy a BlackBerry Curve and had to upgrade to the next service plan to get the discount. I think I got the last laugh though, I don't have insurance on my phone and I was supposed to pay for all the replacement phones but I didn't.

Damn, that's messed up. The funny thing is that I was planning to switch to Verizon next year because my at&t contract is almost up. On top of that, at&t has tried to be slick with a bunch unwanted charges. It's hard to trust big companies these.
