On June 28, at The Burlesque All Stars I did something very different, even for me, I did a butoh fan dance and it was my debut. Now its on u-tube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vwCWtLKu6w or just google THE BLYSS SHOW and you'll find it. We put it up today and already i've already garnered 5 stars!
Not bad!
I'm a bit of a perfectionist so i see where i squeak at one point and i cringe but hey I was naked and nervous and it was my first time so i was all virginal blah blah blah... i'm totally stoked about doing it again on August 2nd when i will perform as a guest performer with SWEET SOUL BURLESQUE at Celebs again for OVER THE RAINBOW. My gal pal Sam is coming in from the island to Body Paint me ( she did me all up at the Sex Show )

oh its going to be soooo HOT!

The ladies of SWEET SOUL are the bomb! I can't wait. So much sassiness. We are going to kick off Pride's peak weekend and do it up RIGHT! and LEFT! lol!

I just found out i'm featured in the PRiDE guide... Riding with my gals in the Parade.... so much FUN! oh ya Baby ! See ya there in glitter and tutus!

Butoh is a theater of improvisation, which places the personal experiences of the dancer on center stage. The dancer is used as a medium to his or her inner life, but not for the portrayal of day-to-day existence. A Dionysian dance of nudity, eroticism, and sexuality, Butoh's scale of expression ranges from meditative tenderness to excessive grotesqueness. By reestablishing the ancient Japanese connection of dance, music, and masks, and by recalling the Buddhist death dances of rural Japan, Butoh incorporates much traditional theater. At the same time, it is a movement of resistance against the abandonment of traditional culture to a highly organized consumer-oriented society. An alliance of tradition and rebellion, Butoh is one of the most fascinating underground dance movements. "Butoh: Body on the Edge of Crisis"
