ASHES. Millions of tons of ashes! Spread across the landscape. Oh what a quandary we mortals face in the face of these ashes! Was something here? Did it burn? What was it before? Why did it burn? Did we cause it?
But these questions owe us no answers… We have made our own answers thus! And before we leave this physical world we may know the answer yet. We may know the answer to these questions and more if we are willing to look inwards deep enough to see through ourselves, to see beyond ourselves and our insignificant beings. Oh what a dilemma we mortals face! We are here one second, but gone the next. For how long will we stay? Will we bring meaning to the world? Ourselves? What is meaning after all? Why should we look if we will lose these answers when we leave this place?
All legitimate questions, they say, but to deny the exploration for explanation we deny our humanity! We deny that which we are here for; to search! So we shall ask these questions.
But once again, these questions owe us no answers. We must decide for ourselves these questions. All answers are on the outside they say! All questions must have answers! But they are not owed to us, alas. Freedom from the ties that bind us to this world means that we may no longer be haunted by these questions. Freedom from those ties is certain death! For when the heart no longer beats the mind no longer churns, the soul no longer searched and we are lost in the cosmos, cursed to forever roam the stars in search of these answers once more, after we thought we were free.
Thus! We are never free.
