The trio's hitting up Quebec in November for a couple of dates, with a stop in our nation's capital along the way. We'll be featuring new tunes from our upcoming album (yes, it's finally done!!) - the first time really playing them out!
After flip-flopping between the flu and late night studio sessions (no doubt related ... ), it's time to pack our bags and hit the road for a bit.
As anyone who makes music knows, the studio and live performance settings are very different beasts - but the best one by far (in my books) is playing out & live, interacting moment by moment with whatever comes your way, and no sooner is a note played or sung - it's gone. The obsessive perfectionist in me knows this to be the ultimate antidote.
We're happy to be part of Mercury Lounge's anniversary celebration in Ottawa on November 10th, followed by a Remembrance Day show at Montreal's Upstairs Jazz Club, and then we hit our favourite joint to play in Quebec - Le Cercle, as part of Quebec's Nu-Jazz extravaganza, on November 12th.
And as for my heritage, you ask? Well, having grown up in so many places, the question of heritage and home is a big one. Suffice to say Montreal has a special standing in my heart and soul. I can't wait to get back there to play ...
See you in November.
