A night of Alternative Acoustic Music
comes to Haverfordwest
Jack Bird was recently No1 on the
Reverb Nation UK Country Chart with his song Slide and he was also
selected to be the featured artist on the Music Industry Website
Song-shooter. His music has been described as dark and twisted
country blues, Q described one of his recent Bristol gigs thus -
“Jack is bar room brawls, smoky pool rooms, juxtapositioned and
jangling chords, dusty highways and full of whiskey aching songs.”
Mark Abis has written a number of
successful songs, several of which have appeared on the soundtrack to
some very popular American TV programs such as Buffy the Vampire
Slayer (the wonderful “Summer Breeze”), Eli Stone and Brothers
and Sisters and the rather racy Brit TV series Diary of a Call Girl.
Joe Boyd (a record producer for, Nick Drake, Pink Floyd, Sandy
Denny, REM and Fairport Convention) said Mark Abis has “My vote for
one of the best of the new generation” - taking a break from
finishing his new album Mark will be performing a solo acoustic set
that is sure to delight everyone.
