Kiyomi here, what do you think of this idea? ~ June 01, 2009 1:13 PM

"We lack nothing, because our essential nature is one of pure potentiality and infinite possibilities"

hi there

kiyomi here, just thought i'd drop a note today, hope i'm finding you well!  i thought i'd include quotes/ideas in my messages from now on, since i'm a bookworm and find many ideas/quotes in books that i like sharing and hearing opinions on.  when i was at one of the lowest points in my life, i used to go to yoga classes, and at the beginning of each class the instructor would read some sort of quote.  it helped me greatly so i thought i'd do that in my mailers :)  and even if i'm over my slump, i still can't get enough of reading, as books represent an actual person's mind and heart, which i find intriquing.  would love to hear what it means to you, or if it means nothing at all

Well, some news on music ~ for those who asked about ringtones, they are available now, click the link below!

I'm also happy to say that SUNY Stonybrook has asked for my music to play on their college radio station!  And lastly, i will be airing on 6/16, on Bronxnet Ch 68, at 11:30 pm.  Performances of one song from my EP, and 2 unrecorded songs.  i'm still looking to record my new songs but it is time and money consuming, so we shall see when that will be!

Anyway, just wanted to touch base with you, and hear what's on your mind, as i find people intriguing.  And because you are a person that's intriguing, you're listed as one of my main inspirations I hope you're well!

Thanks for your post, Kiyomi. Good to hear that your wonderful music will be heard by more people. Hope you can find a way to record your newest songs too.

I like the quotation you've shared and with it a sense of optimism for us all. I am always heartened when people say they can't get enough of reading. I really like these words from the British author Jeanette Winterson:"...of course that is not the whole story, but that is the way with stories, we make them what we will. It's a way of explaining the universe while leaving the universe unexplained..."

Hope you like this too. Have a great week.

Best wishes,

Stephen

This is the type of response i'm craving! :) thanks for your input.  stories (and history books, etc) are written from one perspective, and even that one perspective is altered by things outside the intellectual, like emotions which are sometimes unexplainable... it IS the way we make them to be :)

I'm also quite happy that you're feeding your mind and soul and that your music is reaching a wider audience. It's important for any artist to be heard or seen to a certain degree because we can only learn so much from our own cocoons. Sometimes outside feedback from the public is important if only to hear what others think about our work, but the opinions must be taken with a grain of salt (or morphine--your choice) because our work must first touch ourselves before it can touch someone else.
