PS I am currently considering getting a better camera as my current one despite its menacing size is somewhat lackluster as you can tell from these pictures. However, im not really sure if i really want an expensive piece of equipment that i will be taking it to potentally dangerous situations, ah the dilema. Comments?

what dilemma? pfffft..
I've only destroyed 3 cameras this year..

although, whichever way you go.. I'd advise a CANON.. except for the absolute deal breaker of dropping it into a pint glass of beer (damn, there goes 3) they're pretty damn bulletproof.. real quality build, handles low light exceptionally well, quick response to use..
