so today Little Anthony AKA The Watch, texted me and informed me that its been two years to the day that we played our last show. pretty crazy how time just flies.
i still remember those last shows like they were yesterday. or a few months ago. hopefully i always will. it may not be the same, but at least we're all still bringing new music in different forms. there are still new projects coming together as we speak, another new one with Brian, Mike D & Ron. Andy i think & Ron are workin on some shit, Vinnie & Mike D got SSSP still goin. Gary, Raeph & I are writing the 2nd Black Anvil record as we speak. looks like it'll be coming out on Relapse, which is cool. i feel just as creative with these guys now, as i did 10 years ago, if not more creative & 100 times angrier. we never forget where we came from no matter what little bullshit gets out thru the grapevine. i know ive heard some shit from close friends as well as strangers/reviewers, whatever.. and i could personally care less about what anyone has to say. we are as real as we've ever been, as passionate as we've ever been and thats really all that matters. we're doing what we want to do. so keep "talking" while we're "doing". but other than that, its still crazy that its been two years since that weekend. its been a productive two years for all of us & its pretty cool. sounds cheesy, but this band has made my life what it is, whether im playing a huge show, whether im playing a small show, whether im misserable at work crankin The Devils Blood in the basement.. or writing a "blog" about whats on my mind.. or getting a free dinner at a restaraunt because the dude says "you were in Kill Your Idols right? dinners on me.. just keep writing good music" Andy said it best "Dont look back, but never forget". And i wont.
