no i'm not gonna give my thesis on the subject of grace, it's late, and i don't have all my stuff together, nor will you want to read it all...
anways i was listening to the song on my page (currently) by philips craig and dean called "He'll do whatever it takes"
lyrics below: Philips, Craig and Dean- He'll Do Whatever It Takes Lyrics
"You don't know just how far Away from home I've been" She said, as she looked into my eyes "Could it be I've strayed beyond Mercy's outstretched hand And now His grace no longer stoops To hear my cry You see, I just wanna know Tell me how far will He go Will He still reach for me Inspite of where I've been" And I told her [chorus] He'll do whatever, whatever it takes His grace reaches lower than your worst mistakes And His love will run farther Than you can run away, my friend He'll do whatever, whatever it takes He'll do whatever it takes
I've heard His love is patient That He always hears a prayer And that His love will follow you Despite the miles My best years of life I wasted Why would He even really care What have I to give That He would find worthwhile You see I just wanna know Tell me how far will He go Will He still reach for me Inspite of who I am Let me tell you [chorus] He'll just keep reaching Until He finds a way to bring you back Where you belong Come on back home [chorus]
Anyway, i guess the point is (if there actually is a point) is that it really touched me that time i listened to it.
By nature i'm more inclined towards justice than grace. Yet lately there's been an overwhelming conviction of how much grace has been given to me, so much that i don't deserve it in the very least.
Looking back, it's tearfully sad how consistanly i've failed (also continue to fail) God. and yet he hangs in there never gives up. From the depths of sin God is so powerful to raise ever single person willing to allow God to work.
It's surprising that we as needy human being put limits on what God should do, how He is to do things, why or when he should act.
Who are we to tell God how to operate, He is so much bigger than all of us put together, and so the question is why do we question him, why do we want to do things are own way after time after time that God shows us that he knows best, so many times that he saves our necks from what we get ourselves into. (ps. though i do know of a couple of passage where God has stooped to allow us to control his power but that's different from the above)
as i heard at southern, "Let Go, and Let God" let His grace reach you, let His grace touch you, transform you, mold you.
btw yes Juanfer i know that your english is somehow better than mine... lol
