Who Gives Kudos:

Friday, June 27, 2008

For those of you who have stumbled upon some murmurings that Achille Lauro will be playing its last show this evening, we have one thing to say...

Just hold on a damn minute.

Although the future is never something to guarantee or count on, Achille Lauro has made absolutely NO plans to "break up".  On the contrary, we're quite excited to begin a new chapter in writing following our first full length CD release.

It is true, however, that following tonight's festivities we'll be taking a short month-long hiatus.  One band member has a job he needs to tend to while the others are desperately in need of sleep and reflection.

Tonight's show is a celebration of the amazing and unique community that we all find ourselves a part of and an opportunity to bond, make acquaintances and revel in that experience all while wearing ridiculous outfits and drinking cheap beer.  We look forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces and thanking you profusely for your unwavering support of the home grown talent that will be sharing the stage this evening.

Love,

Achille Lauro

Widowers

I read on the internet that Brian Joseph is quitting the band to play World of Warcraft. I also heard that the Mossman Bros are really the Ringling Bros and are quitting the band to train tigers and peddle funnel cakes.

Check your facts Widowers!!! The Mossman brothers are taking ping pong to the next level with the Parker Township invitational in July. We'll be live blogging from the Douglas County Fairgrounds all day Saturday; July 12th, with Lewis and Floorwax. Good luck Ben Halen!

Cite your sources, Mothership. You're clearly using Wikipedia. Anyone that's hip to the Mossman bros knows that their Wikipedia page has long been tainted and disgraced by the Schlossman Bros, a far less-talented pair whose jealousy has over time replaced logic and reason. The Schlossmans and the Mossmans were once united as a popular barbershop quartet called the Ossmans. The Mossmans' talent always made the Schlossmans boil on the inside, leading to a nasty breakup backstage at a sold-out McNichols Arena show in early 1989.

As for Ping-Pong, the Mossmans have ended their storied careers. Any Mossman fan knows that Luke suffers from a crippling case of Table-Tennis Elbow, a terrible affliction that ended his promising career in the final match of the 1991 Ore-Ida Potato Fun-vitational. Luke was just three points away from winning the coveted '8-12 Tater Tots' division when he tore a tendon, forcing him to forfeit to his Polish opponent. Ben, in honor of his brother Luke, admirably chose to bow out of the '13-17 Small Fry' Division and quit the game forever.

John Botts

I heard that John Botts played a pirated copy of the new Achille Lauro CD in New York City for Alex Cape and his roommates, and their noses started bleeding as they shouted obscenities before jumping from their third story window onto the subway tracks outside of their house. Crazy, huh?
I also heard that he regrets missing the cd release show.
There better be a show happening sometime around my return, or there will be hell to pay!
