Beginning in London in 2006, our friend Evan (of Dynamophone Records), has put on an annual series of performances called Ixmae. We are thrilled to be a part of this year's series, which will be held at Poleng Lounge.
This show will also have the added feature of being a supper club. How civilized! I have not eaten at Poleng since early 2007, but I recall it being very good and there were a few real winners on the menu. I visited their menu just now and it appears they also have a full tea selection for you non-drinkers and a full bar and bottle service for the rest of us louts.
Each night (there are two) will have two shows (8-10pm and 10pm-12am). We (Ryan and Rebecca playing as "R/R Coseboom") will be playing the September 11 show with Bitcrush and Near the Parenthesis, both of the fantastic n5md label.
Who are R/R Coseboom? Why are we playing a show under that name? Around the time that we were finishing up Wholeness and Separation for Halou, we had also recorded enough music to put out another album. The music sounded different enough from the music we were doing with Halou at that time, so we felt it was appropriate to release it under a different name. So, in 2006, we released "Beneath Trembling Lanterns" under the band name "R/R Coseboom." Samples of what our R/R Coseboom music sounds like can be found here: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=62511972
We have only ever played one R/R Coseboom show (up in Seattle, before the album release), so there is that added excitement for us. We intend to do some of the R/R Coseboom tracks as well as a few Halou ones and perhaps a Stripmall Architecture one. We will be joined by Unwoman on c3llo.
