Victoria (Tori) Lindsay 16 was attacked on March 30 in Lakeland Florida by six teenage girls ranging in age from 14-17 when she arrived at a friend's home.

She was invited to a sleepover, they attacked her as soon as the door opened. They beat her unconcious only to repeat their savageness when she awoke. She tried to leave, they blocked her, and kept hitting her. What if she had made it out the door?
With 2 teenage ,boys outside the door standing as lookouts.
A concussion, eye damage, hearing loss, lots of cuts and bruises, she is lucky to be alive. And for what? So these kids could post a video on my space and you tube! I watched the video on the news, and a brief one on a newscast online, I cried, and cried. This girl was crying and pleading for them to stop, but they didn't. Curled up in a fetal position she couldnt defend herself at all. Some would even hold her down while others punched and kicked. You can hear on the video, them taunting her, one even says" only 17 seconds left, make it good!" When one got tired of beating her, another took over. I wanted to throw up watching this.
This could have been one of our kids, whether the victim or attacker.
What was fun to us is boring for the new generation, but what kind of society calls what they did "fun?"

These types of videos should be reviewed before being publically posted.
I went to youtube, and couldn't believe the fighting videos, just done for fun! There are some from our own skatepark here in Jefferson City.
This is appauling behavior. And our kids are no exception to the possibilty. As victims or otherwise. As parents we want so much to protect our kids, but can we really? Guide them, advise them, nurture them, support them Yes, but really, really protect them, I think this is something we can't do, at least not on levels as these, and it scares me to death.
I can only imagine what the parents of this girl are going through.
I found out that my son was engaging in  "play" boxing matches, and where? At Church! He is no longer going there, since apparantly he is not supervised. What if it got out of hand? It happens everyday. I mean Church for goodness sake. Where are our kids really safe at? Home!!!!! Thats it. Im ordering bars for windows, security, the whole 9 yards! Not really but I had to say it. It felt good.

The teens in questions are being released on 30,000 bail, house arrest, with a few conditions of release, such as, banned from school, and internet related chat and video areas. No word yet, if they will be charged as adults, but why shouldn't they be?

Victoria is doing better physically, but as I am sure we all can imagine, the emotional scars will be there forever.

MySpace and You tube are becoming the anti-Christ for our children.

I wanted to write my feelings and thoughts on this, as I will be back to write more.

Well today I picked my 13 year old son up from school after he and another boy were what they call "body boxing" only for it get serious and both boys have marks! Suspension and grounding.. what more can we do? I am beside myself, and totally unsure of what to do, how to help my children grow out of these ridiculous ideas that they have for fun.

For those of you that have heard that Dr. Phil bailed one of the girls out, it was NOT Dr. Phil, it was his producers in which he knew nothing about. So you can't put blame on Dr, Phil. Yes, this was wrong. The way it was done. If The show wanted the rights to the story, they should have paid the girls family, then the family bail her out, not the producers going to the jail and posting bail.

As far as I know right now, she is recovering, from a conusssion, with ear and eye damage. These teens from what I understand as of now, WILL BE charged as adults. I am glad to hear this.

It's a real shame that people can treat others so callously.

I was raised to have respect for my fellow man, and this sort of behavior is totally foreign to me.
