It was simply in response to this kid's blog.The blog, to me, makes it appear that Ross felt that MySpace, and the existence of some of the people he knew, was superficial, while what he was doing was real. A lot of people are superficial, and the connections they make are based on the same sort of things that make MySpace connections sometimes seem so fake. Ross wrote... "Get the fuck out. While you're busy collecting friends on MySpace and pretending to be depressed or too busy to "deal with people", I'm actually living." Events like what happend at Va Tech make the many people who make a life of MySpace, or of being depressed, or of being too busy to deal with people, take notice. Some will start doing things they might not have done - maybe even making connections with people they might not have reached out to - because of what happened to Ross and all of the others. Life can be cut short for no reason, and sometimes you don't realize how meaningless your daily routine has been til you come face to face with the fact that it could be ended tomorrow. My post wasn't meant to disrespect him, and I'm not sure how people took it that way. It was intended to show him some props, and tryyyyyy to give a little meaning to what happened, although I guess that's not really possible. And for the idiots debating gun laws... and making jokes... take a second to think... the boy who made this MySpace and logged into it every day until two days ago... what would HIS opinion be?
