A Short Essay by David Arnold
Idols vs. Heroes
Those who have idols do not possess the strength or courage to become something greater. Those who have heroes possess the innate quality it takes to mimic and improve upon what made their heroes succeed. They have the mental poise it takes to discover and utilize their own courage and maintain the dedication it takes to become something greater long term, even if at the moment all is not well.

After writing the above short essay, I looked in the dictionary to make sure my perceived definitions of words were correct, to make sure I was not just senslessly rambling and I was amazed at how aligned my short essay was with the definitions:
---
Hero, n, a man/woman of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities.
Idol, n, any person or thing regarded with blind admiration, adoration, or devotion
