The end of Cassette is here and it's time to party. After more than a year of fluoro-noir electro-pop, dance-rock, French house, Eurocrunk, waterfall roc and all manner of other chopped-up, stuck-together dancefloor fillers and clearers alike, it's nearly over. From it's inception as bedroom DJs transplanting themselves into a sleazy karaoke bar with a lightsabre dancefloor, to it's current party mode of cramming world-class DJs (Ajax, DJ Mehdi...) into a too-small space, there have been a lot of goodtimes and we're going to be celebrating them at the last ever Cassette on the 15th of August. Bringing the party for the last time will be a Hit Machine-esque selection of Cassette's favourites from the last 12 months, the indie-electro Sandlot Kids: Party Club, Turbosaurus, Difficult Dom, Petrosex, Melt and DJ Dandy. In addition to the freshest floormelteters we could get our hands on, expect to hear VAST QUANTITIES of all the MASSIVE TRACKS from the last year of trashy Wednesday nights at Cassette. $5 on the door, 9pm til late, drink specials all night. Bar Open, 234 William St, Northbridge.
