I had a great time in Washington DC over Memorial Day
playing the Rolling Thunder Salute The Troops Show. What an awesome view and experience playing on a stage that
looks up at the Lincoln Memorial with the Reflecting Pool at your back. What was even more fun was hanging out
at the bar with all the bikers, vets and supporters and listening to all their
stories. To see almost 500,000
motorcycles in DC all supporting the same cause was awesome. After the show that day we went back to
the hotel for a banquet where they asked me to play. Playing for a crowd of about 500 in this ballroom which
included Medal of Honor winners, former Prisoners of War, celebrities, more
vets and great folks was humbling.
I played an acoustic version of “On My Watch Tonight” and you could have
heard a pin drop. Great to be in a
place where people really “got it.”
The beers flowed after that.
More stories, more beers and I wound up just staying up since I had an
early flight and knew if I tried to sleep I’d miss my flight back to
Honolulu. Long trip, worth every
second.
My next journey finds me heading to Nashville, TN. I have been invited to perform and
participate in some events put on by CMA for the Wounded Warrior Project. This includes an acoustic set I’ll be
playing at the Tin Roof June 10
th. I’ll go on around 8pm.
Supposed to be a bunch of folks out, to include a lot of industry
scouts/folks so if you’re in the area, come on by and make some noise. I have also been invited to be in a
music video for a major country music star. The shoot is supposed to be on Wednesday. My thanks and
gratitude again to Rolling Thunder for making this Nashville trip happen. Once
all is said and done, I’ll let you know the who, what, when, where and whys. I’ll
also keep you updated by my twitter account. You can join me at

Sorry for the time gap since the last blog, will try to
write more.
Thanks,
Mike
