Honestly, why do so many good unsigned
bands come from Denver, CO? Known by all young music enthusiasts as the
place where the post-hardcore scene thrives due to the success of bands
such as Fear Before and Drop Dead, Gorgeous, the music now coming out
of the Mile High City is even more challenging, if not accessable and
timely. Defending The Pilot is one such band who should make a good
deal of positive noise, if there EP It Looks So Good From Here is any indication of things to come.

Featuring ex-members of two unsigned
bands who made the cover of Highwire Daze in years past (Anabelle Lee
and Dead Where We Stand), Defending The Pilot presents songs that are
remarkably catchy with the right amount of sonic brutality to keep the
mosh pit throngs happy as well. If there was ever a band ready to take
the leap into the big leagues, it would be Defending The Pilot. Tunes
such as the anthem like This Would Have Meant More, the infectious Winter, and the dynamic Second Chances are standouts that should garner the band a good deal of fans. Another track, The Things We Never Said, features a guest vocal performance from Danny Stillman of Drop Dead, Gorgeous.

Surely one of the most charismatic bands
on the scene today, Defending The Pilot possess the necessary fuel to
soar into the stratosphere of success. Labels such as Victory and Rise
need to take serious into what these guys have to offer – and so should
you! The talented Defending The Pilot lineup consists of Daniel Simmons
on lead vocals, Michael Payne and Mark DeLucas on guitar and vocals,
Brett Marcovich on bass and vocals, and Matt Neiberger on drums. Info: http://www.myspace.com/defendingthepilot!
