I
still meet people who ask me if I'm still working at the record store. Not for a couple years, but that's okay, we haven't seen each other in awhile.
I work at the
Austin History Center. Have been for awhile now. The video below was produced for the local PBS station and originally aired last year, but only recently was it put online, so I thought I'd post it here. It is a nice introduction to the AHC if you are unfamiliar with the institution. This was filmed shortly before I started working there, so I can tell people to watch it without the embarrassment of having to see myself on camera. Enjoy!
Of note to rock n' rollers: Tim, the video archivist, did the original video for
Poison 13's "One Step Closer," among other things. So it's
possible to have conversations like this at work:
Me: "Have you seen that
Ronnie Lane documentary? I watched it last night and it's pretty great."
Tim: "Oh, yeah. They filmed part of that in my back yard."
Yeah,
could be worse, friends,
could be worse.
