Rodney says that "parking is killing rock and roll" with the parking prices for U2 set at $60! Liza suggests finding a friend who lives near a venue, and park at their house and walk to the venue!  This week Rodney hung out with Brigitte Handley and her band at Canters.  He thinks they may be going to the Roxy Show on Oct. 29th to hang out.  More announcements forthcoming...

WOW what a dynamite show.....but that third song is a bit flat. ..BTW,there was another band (of REAL
girls) named THE GIRLS (Japan,1977). I have their T-shirt...and,of course, there was another song
(by Iggy Pop) called "Lust For Life".

..Really enjoyed hearing "Bulletproof"...twice! And Painted Willie with "Covergirl"...what a convoluted,
sophisticated song!

Thoughtful tribute to BRENDAN MULLEN (R.I.P.) ..But note that X's legendary song is called "Adult
Books". Dollyrots song is called "Brand New Key"...last time I looked....

..And,oh,yes....INFLATABLE BOY CLAMS at this time each year with "Skeleton".....Rodney has previously
said that this is THE MOST REQUESTED SONG OF ALL TIME ON HIS SHOW!! IBC could stand
head-to-toe with The Shaggs or Shonen Knife, any time...

The twin openers of La Roux & The Sounds fit hand to glove with girl-fronted one-hitters of yore like The Eurogliders (Heaven (Must Be There)) and Republica ("Ready to Go"), but with that rattling around in my head, I could sworn to hearing a Green On Red incarnate with The Girls (& extra kudos 4 the doubleshot of my fave Dollyrots 'n Woolly Bandits tracks!)
His Mullen Tribute largely belonged to Dangerhouse http://www.breakmyface.com/bands/dangerhouse1.html (The primeval Go-Go live cuts can be obtained on their Beyond the Valley comp. And while we were at it, why not include "Kill the BeeGees" or "Sit On My Face Stevie Nicks"?!). Frankly I was amazed he gave The Dils a tad of recognition, as they once screwed him over bigtime in the early years of ROTR. I could ramble on & on with my own stories of some of these bands! Anyone catch that remark about Nickey Beat? I thought it was Pat Bag he was married to at one point...

Just heard recently....RIP Milton Supman aka SOUPY SALES....heard a rumor that Chelsea Doll's
related to him somehow....and I checked out that Michelle Phillips rumor. She WAS scheduled to
make a semi-secret appearance at The Talking Stick...but heard she was under-the-weather.
Michelle likes a new folky,co-ed band called The Backboners....RODNEY should play that band!

Although not as polished as The Mamas and the Papas, the musical potential is there...
