Not that I was actually counting, but I think something like 40 Yeager-bombs, or at least combination of those and Agwabombs is the round about figure of consumption for the last 5 days! Yes, its been a huge weekWednesday was the Inthemix Top 50 announcement in Sydney and there was a bunch of promoters, DJs and club personalities out in forceSome celebrated quietly in good spirits, others left in a huff not happy with their results, we all smashed it and tried to drink the Tank bar dry. Congratulations to the national winner AJAX and also to Grant Smillie who was voted number 1 in Victoria. Grants had a huge year with his DJing, not to mention TV rock, and he deserves all his success. Once Tank closed a bunch of us representing Canberra, Sydney, Kink, Onelove, Future Entertainment, Fuzzy, Exclusive Artists and various DJs, headed out on the town, bar hopping and, yep, u guessed itdrinking more of the previously mentioned bombs. It was a crazy night, the end tally being: one 2 day old blackberry donated to some random taxi (ouch, and yes, it was mine), lots of $2 notes donated to a semi naked dancer at some dodgy strip bar (these were not mine but it was enjoyable seeing the Italian section of our entourage working the floor with their bunches of play money). Adding to the atmosphere was the DJ who took great pleasure in playing TV Rock, Dirty South and various Vicious releases while we were all there. The night continued with numerous dodgy chicken hot wings digested at 5am, some gambling, and a bunch of hangovers! I got in at 5:30am and was the first home out of about 8 of us! It continued on the Gold Coast the next night with MrTimothy, Dirty South, Vandalism, Stafford Brothers and myself all playing up there. Again, I was the first home at 5am (funny how two 5am-ish finishes makes me sound lightweight within the context of this little adventure)The rest got home at about 7am! Then for me a 5 hour and 20 minute flight to Perth (hmm, yes, feeling tip top after 4 hours sleep too). I played the first of the Vicious Cuts volume 3 gigs at Harbourside which was rocking and guess whatmore bombs. I am writing this on the flight back to MelbourneOne Love is on tonight with Andy Murphy, Dirty South and me closingyes, probably more of the bombs but at least I know I get past 5am as I play 4 till 6! I love DJing, and I enjoy a big night out, but seriouslyweeks like this and I can hear my body pleading for time offI say to my bodyU have 4 days, then be ready for Thursday at Q, and more bombs!
