Sure it's been almost 5 years since we wrapped production. Sure, everyone else involved with the show has moved on with their lives. But what can I say? I'm still not ready to put that final nail in the Undergrads coffin. Anyway, I've somehow been corced into posting here on MySpace to to rally as much support for a SECOND SEASON as possible.

Here's the skinny on what's been going down thus far. For the last year and a half, Teletoon and Decode have been trying their darndest to make this second season happen. But Lordy, them cartoons be mighty expensive to produce. MTV has completely washed their hands of the show. And without an American broadcaster, there just ain't enough money in the bank.

Now, I'd offer to chip in myself...but since the demise of "Undergrads", I've been forced to make ends meet as a Hollywood screenwriter. So naturally, all my money is tied up in shiny sports cars. But seriously, I've offered to write, direct, and do all the voices (even Kimmy's!) pro bono in an attempt to bring down the cost of a new season. Yet, we're still coming up short.

THAT'S WHERE YOU, THE LOYAL FANS, COME IN! Many of you have written in and offered to raise the money yourselves for a second season. And that's the tops. But here's the next best thing...

SPREAD THE WORD my friends. The Canadian fan base for this show has been outstanding. But we're lacking a buzz down in the States...which is understandable due to the fact that the show hasn't aired on a US network in over 3 years. And when it did, you could only catch it at 2 in the morning.

So...invite all your friends to come by and rap about our little show. Or if you're feeling really generous, go out and buy the UG DVD. We need all the help we can get. But honestly, a second season has never been closer.

Bought the DVD a week ago, there was only 2 left in the store, a good sign I hope. I respect you greatly for trying to keep the show going. Most creators only go till there's no money, and switch to another project now that they have their foot in the door. And you may complain about having to be a Hollywood writer, but trust me, Hollywood needs writers like you. Keep up the good work, whatever work it is.

my friend, i have not stopped talking about how UG is my favourite show, ever.  yes yes, it even tops out Futurama.  and that's rare.  this UG DVD will be mine on my next trip to the record shop, i assure you.

PS:  if i get a UG tattoo, will you let me make a cameo on a new episode?  hahaha.  (i'm actually only really half-joking *wink wink*)

Dude, UnderGRADS rocked so damn hard when it was on.  I'm curious, how much money are you needing to complete your goals of getting it back in production?  Because i might know some people who could help, myself included.  I'd love to see a 2nd Season finally get out there, and hopefully get everyone hooked on it again.  Shit, at least be able to pull off a movie, maybe something like Firefly has done with Serenity.

yes, i too bought the dvd and loved every minute of it. I was one of the late night TV vigilantes that stayed up til 2 just to see a glimpse of the show before passing out or taking another drink from my energy drink at that time.

...hopefully the new season will be able to come out, b/c i am totally looking forward to it. We need the good shows back instead of the usual "reality" of which the TV seems to lick up and shit out every 4 weeks. Us viewers need something with good writing and having a good time, like Undergrads...

Right.  I was up late one night at the computer and suddenly heard "The Click" by Good Charlotte coming from the tube.  I was a huge fan of GC back then and now I'm a big fan Undergrads.

I actually went to the show's site and looked up some of the artists featured on the show.  Good stuff.

I would say "I would die to see a new season of UG," but where's the sense in that.  If I'm dead, how am I going to watch it?

I would love to see more undergrad episodes I love the show and so do many people i know if theres anything i can do to help get a 2nd season that would be great been on a quest to find out if there was a 2nd season coming and one thing came theou least the DVD of the first season So good to see you haven't given up because we haven't Cheers to your efforts thanx

Undergrads is still one of my all time faves. I've never gotten tired with the repeated episodes over and over and over and over and....still love it! I've been preaching the UG love to everyone I know for years. Hope, with help, the show will get back on the air.

, to be honest MTV sucks now..
they're playing to the prep's now.. and not
their former core audience
Comedy Central seems best bet with Southpark and DrawnTogether.
Though i gotta say ... the ending wasss a lil weak that he "hooked up" with
the girl.. granted all guys wish it , buttt it coulda been dregged along for another season(s) , or something else lol...that i think was my only real dissapointment with the show

did you plan on doing in flash? that would probably cut the cost as well. But, the show looks a certain way with that style on paper. So....honestly, I would rather it be on paper, but, flash isn't so bad if you get the right people doing traditional stuff. Whatta you think?

Hey Matt.  In an effort to keep costs down, we would probably be doing the animation for 2nd Season in Toon Boom (which is similar to Flash).  Of course we'd try our damndest not to steer too far from the original look of the show.  The "paper look" of the backgrounds in Season 1 was actually achieved in Photoshop.  So it shouldn't be too hard to emulate in a program like Toon Boom.  We'll see.

I know you posted this a while ago, but you can do the image in photoshop and import to the program? I have no clue... I am good with photoshop and flash, And have a microphone, I'd do anything to help you get the second season out man!

seriously dude, everything possible has to be done to bring the show back..i own the DVD, and watch it all the time on like teletoon, but the end of season one is killer!!! those MTV bastards dont know what a good show is, like common, they'll put on "nick and jessica" but not season 2 of Undergrads!!! WTF ARE THEY ON!!! ahh, its drivin me crazy!!! hahaha.

You have my full support man, Undergrads was one of my favourite shows and I would really like to see it end properly. If it does come back, I really hope you don't cheap out so much that it'll affect the overall impression of the show.

I have the DVD, and my friends and I, recent undergrads ourselves, still quote the show.  We'd love to see more episodes and find out what happened with Kimmy and Nitz etc.  There's a vast shortage of really rockin' shows out there, let's support the one we have!

Hey just got the dvd the other day. had a hard time finding it cause where ever i went it was not in stock. anywho i first saw the show 5 years ago now and was instantly hooked. been telling people about it left right and centre and still hope to see a season 2  and more someday. and i actually did not know why undergrades was not continued till i read the website. anyway hopefully funding will come in and we will see another insallment
