myspace music

i blog on life, through the lens of music, and my attempts to make a living at it, over the last 20 years. as a bonus, i tag each blog with a relevant and gorgeous record (there's a gap in this when myspace 's tag function wasn't working). the blog goes back many years, please check out it's evolution !

www.yap.com is the band's main site, with additional music, images and bio. i am working on a book, which will draw from these blogs, with a bunch of additional bridging material and perhaps photos, to be released late in '09.

kittens dominate the hostel now, running new, throwing down books and anything on a shelf. cuteness = survival trait. i should know..)

kamloops yesterday produced a wooden sailboat, old, leaky, fragile, but now here and another project for blair to go on. it certainly reminds me of sailing with my dad, and would make a fine mid-bay sleeper for two, provided it floats....

as the NHL playoff wind down, i'm cutting down my bookmarks, and got many new chords for 'prelude to the blues' last game. i've lined up a gig in toronto to make a second attempt at a live acoustic duo cd with my friend noah zacharin. jul 25, if you're keeping track and live in toronto. i'm in tough to chose the tunes, there's a few slow oldies which are obvious, but i want to keep the tunes for the victoria band and toronto band's next recordings out, if i can. it's not resolving easily.

i did manage to fire up the hostel's scanner, which works with Chicklet (my laptop). that means i can scan a pile of gig posters from last year, and file the shows with socan, as well as create a gallery of posters, which i've always wanted to have. as you can see, i'm in one of those stages where it's all paperwork. hard to maintain the focus, it turns into a list of tasks very easily, and there's cash flow issues etc.

the weather here is gorgeous, mid twenty's and up, and the house boat has arrived, so i can go and type and play, out of the sun and on the water, bounced by the occasional boom boat, and duck posses'. i really enjoyed my friend rich's visit, and had the drive in and out of kamloops to drop him off dislodge the bones of another highway song, to join 'saanich rocks'. so perhaps i can stave off the doldrums with the art. wish me luck.

love;

t

ps - i tag the manvils first record, but i am luck enough to be listening to their new cd, coming up for release later this year, which is tighter, and hookier, produced by that limblifter guy. check them out !
