Don’t Kill Brittney

Hey, this is Nathan, the guitarist for Don't Kill Brittney, I just wanted to ask, what gave you inspiration to start playing music, and did you take or lessons or teach yourself? I taught myself how to play guitar about 2-3 years back. Thanks and stay cool.

Hi Eric, Never mind the children, If they don’t think Shinedown rocks they are musically and spiritually dead. Now to the business at hand. Being a big Shinedown fan and Dean guitar fan. How did you get hooked up with Dean guitars ,and are the deans you play custom shop or off the rack. Also what pickups do you use for touring?

Eirc,

I have been a long time fan and part time musican. And PART TIME is the understatment of the year. Does brand name really play that big of a roll in what you played before having your career launched? Its obvious that now, the great companies like DEAN want to put those Great intruments in your hands, but WAYYYYY back when there was no money, did name brand play a big part in your decision making process, or was it just whatever would hold tune???? Thanks for taking the time... See you guys in Atlanta.... ( SORRY DEAN... Love your stuff. Own a couple of low end pieces, but had to ask...)

Hi Eric, how does playing in somewhere like the U.K differ from playing in the U.S?  Is there a difference in the crowd?  I saw you in Manchester U.K this year, which I've been told has a widespread reputation amongst American bands for being a great city to play in, is this true?  Cheers, see you in the fall.  James

Eric, I caught one of your guitar picks at the Crawfish Boil in Birmingham, AL this year and I just wanted to say that made my whole MONTH, Shinedown is my favorite band, Brent sings my soul and touches my heart. My question for you is: What artist do you find yourself relating to the most, emotionally/mentally, when it comes to lyrics? Your sound is superb and it's clear you've been influenced by some of the best talent in the business, but who was it that called your soul to put music to the inspiring lyrics that Brent makes so inspiring? I guess that is the same as who influenced you, but on a different level, I'm speaking more lyrically than musically.

It's just me...

When writing bass lines for songs, do you approach it as a low end harmony to the guitar riffs or do you just write something and then mesh it in?  I'm curious because a lot of your bass lines on 'Sound of Madness' sound like they are regular riffs on a much lower end...

Hey Eric,
My question for you is: Did ever something really funny happen on stage?
I mean, I know you like to do these turns on stage (see this video for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8OJabVXabk&feature=related , 0:45-0:50); did you ever get dizzy of doing that so you bumped into Zach or something?

By the way, see you in Cologne,Germany on 11/18/09! Can't fuckin' wait!! :)

Best Wishes,
Valerie
