With an almost Entombed-like mid range take on hardcore littered with crumbling sludge tangents, The Undisputed Truth hits like a downtuned runaway train, and has the same pace (esp. "Seven", "Overun, Overgrown, Overthrown"). Thought not as adventurous as label mates and Church mates Sleeping Giant, Seventh Star make up for it with direct, rumbling and forceful take on hardcore that has more than a nod to death 'n' roll and Crowbar as much as Hatebreed and their other peers.
After the rousing trot of the opening title track, the Entombed does Hardcore reference starts to really come through for the likes of "How at Hand", "Cursed Creation (The Fall of Man)",the simply killer groove in "The World's Solution" and closer "Chasing the Wind" and the only difference is Johnny Intravaia's relatively standard, though gruff hardcore shout. However, musically, Seventh Star are musically far more interesting that your usual chest beating macho hardcore band though the gang chants and tracks like "Isiaih Six", "For all the Saints" and "I Versus I" belie the bands roots but are still above average hardcore tracks in their own right.
In all another solid release from Facedown, who look to be finding a niche in Christian metal that's a little more ballsy than Solid State's roster and I look forward to hearing more from this improving label.
