We just heard a couple days ago from the film's producer, "L.A. Women's Fest" will premiere on Logo TV, Thursday, Jan. 25 at 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time!
We are wonderfully excited about this, not having experienced anything like it before, and we're enjoying the adventure of how these types of things unfold. Got word that when it debuts at the time above, it'll be 90 minutes long, but when it's aired again in reruns, it'll be shortened to a 60 minute version. Hm, interesting.
The Logo website features "L.A. Women's Fest"
here. It was a real exciting thing for us to see the page download on our computer screen for the first time yesterday, and to be feeling, "Wow...this is how it feels to have part of your dreams coming true...we're on a dang national TV website!"
And, it brought back memories of that day of soundchecks, meeting fellow artists and new friends, the nerves and antics backstage, and of course, the night of performances and the audience's amazing energy.
Also, feelings of fulfillment in having our work pay off in a visible way. Work, the mind-numbingly numerous hours and days of not-actual-music, but music-related work. Phone calls, many that were unreturned, emails, many of which also were unreturned, computer confusion and hassles, audio equipment and instrument issues, the frustration of figuring out how we could do something, or work with what we could and couldn't do, on a limited budget in time, and money, and contacts. Many of these challenges still remain, and some more crucial ones come from within ourselves at times; doubts and family voices that echo those doubts. But still, we're persevering, and believe in the beauty of our gift of music. That it's a valuable thing in this world, in part because of the faith and energy of hope, harmony, and honest work from which it springs.
And to be truly honest, we feel genuinely bolstered up by the numerous people who've been kind enough to take the time and energy to let us know how our music has made them feel uplifted or soothed. And by the people who have even gone beyond that and stepped forward on their own to help in material ways as well, whether with a banner that reads "MAKENA" for our gigs (thank you, Mark) or getting us publicity with media and promoting us online (thank you, Kentara), or bringing ten friends to a gig (thank you, Kate), or...the list goes on. We are so blessed.
