For Immediate Release:

2008 AMERICANA FOLK FESTIVAL SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1
Fourth annual event will feature over 30 bands at Montgomery Bell State Park

Nashville, TN—October 13, 2008—The fourth annual Americana Folk Festival (AFF) will be held at Montgomery Bell State Park (Dickson, TN) on Saturday, November 1, 2008. Since its inception in 2004, this grassroots event continues to build an audience dedicated to better living and listening. With a quality-over-quantity approach often lost in bigger, corporate music events, AFF strives to create a sense of the back-porch "picking party", even amidst thousands of audience members.

Nestled within a private campground in one of Tennessee's most beautiful state parks, music begins in the morning and continues on three stages throughout the day and into the night. Audience members can also stroll through a wooded village laden with folk and outsider artists, craftsman, and instrument builders. Park rangers and WRLT's Team Green will provide organized activities (hikes, bike rides, etc.) or participants can stumble upon various open jam sessions throughout the grounds.

Event sponsor Yazoo Brewing Company will unveil their first organic brew at the event, in addition to exclusively serving their beloved favorites. Audience members can also feast on great BBQ, soups/chili and breads, kettle corn, taco truck fare, a mobile coffee house, or even vegan vendor selections.

Contrary to the event's name, AFF isn't strictly an Americana or folk music festival, but a variation on a theme. With a vibe more Sundance than Merlefest, the event creates the place where diverse artists and fans gather to freely express their love for roots music. Past AFF performers include Patty Griffin, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Avett Brothers, and Mindy Smith. Tickets are available on the event website for $30 or for sale at the gate ($40) the day of the event.

About Blood:Water Mission
The Americana Folk Festival has chosen to highlight Blood:Water Mission. This Nashville-based non-profit organization exists to promote clean blood and clean water efforts in Africa, tangibly reducing the impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic while addressing the underlying issues of poverty, injustice and oppression. Blood:Water Mission is building clean water wells, supporting medical facilities, and focusing on community and worldview transformation, both here in America and in Africa. It only takes $1 to provide one year of clean water for an African.

"Set in the bucolic hills of Middle Tennessee, the AFF is all about interaction-you're as likely to see audience members strumming guitars as the folks on stage...anyone who loves acoustic music will be certain to come away happy.

Well, I'm also listening to 'Luminous', my favorite album of the past year. And I'm really looking forward to seeing Jennifer Niceley LIVE at this year's AFF.
I can't wait!

Howdy Dara- "Luminous' is my other favorite of the last year or so. I LOVE Jennifer Niceley! This cd was also produced by Joe McMahan.

I was stunned when I first heard this. So different, and just so beautiful.

Sincerely,
Van
