The Americana Folk Festival (AFF) will be held at Montgomery Bell State Park on Saturday, November 1, 2008.
This festival isn't strictly an Americana or folk music festival, but a variation on a theme. With a vibe more Sundance than Merlefest, the event creates the place where diverse artists and fans gather to freely express their love for roots music.
Nestled within a private campground in one of Tennessee's most beautiful state parks, music begins in the morning and continues on three stages throughout the day and into the night. Audience members can also stroll through a wooded village laden with folk and outsider artists, craftsman, and instrument builders. Fans can even participate in organized nature activities like hikes and bike rides or stumble upon various open jam sessions throughout the grounds.
